In October, I interviewed at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine. I was accepted to Sanford School of Medicine by Thanksgiving of 2007. During the course of the fall I was rejected from every other medical school, before I was granted an interview. Obviously that 6 in the Verbal Reasoning section hurt me. I believe that score was the reason I did not recieve any other interviews. But at least I got in somewhere, so overall I have no complaints. A bit of advice for pre-med applicants, I believe the process is really just a numbers game until you get an interview, that’s where all your extracurriculars and sparkling personality really need to shine.
